MSN Search Engine Changes
It seems that on-page factors are now more important and MSN shows a preference to web pages that are listed "higher"
in the website directory. An example would be that www.allmanworks.com/notes.html would receive a higher ranking that would
www.allmanworks.com/news/items/today.html because it has less directories to go through. It also seems that MSN now likes
static pages over dynamically generated pages.
The first rule of thumb is: don't panic!
Many reported preference changes are more guess-work than detective-work. Only the search engines know for sure what the
algorithms will be used and they do not pass along that information. Before you make changes to your web pages: stop, look, and
listen. Wait until the yakety-yak is over and the real data is in on this subject.
