Getting Out of Google's Sand Box
If you have good rankings with MSN and Yahoo but not Google, you might be caught in Google's Sand Box. New web sites with new
domain names need about 6-8 months before Google will include them. Don't worry about this behavior. Google delays including brand
new web sites to encourage webmasters to build content instead of mini-networks.
Some webmasters were building mini sites just so they would have multiple links to the main web site in an attempt to create the illusion
of popularity. These sites had no other purpose than to inflate the link popularity of their main site.
By delaying the ranking of new sites, Google is trying to prevent spammers and encourage good content. This is called the Sand Box.
To help with this tactic, as soon as you have a domain name, create a temporary page and link to it from another web site. This will make
Google aware of your site. The sooner Google knows about your site, the sooner it will be listed. It seems to help if your site has it's
own IP address and that you have a link from the Yahoo directory. However, at present, there seems to be no way around this Sand
Box feature.
